West Nile Virus

As of April 15, 2010, ill and dead crows and blue jays will again be collected for State testing to help in tracking the spread of West Nile Virus.  Please report any ill or dead crows and blue jays to the Health Office at 973-263-7160.  On weekends and holidays, contact the Parsippany Police Department at 973-263-4300.

Since the virus is spread by the bite of mosquitoes, help reduce the risk of mosquito bites by eliminating all standing water on your property, in flower pots and dishes, birdbaths, tires, roof gutters, wheelbarrows, buckets, children's toys, pools (unless chlorinated and in use), pool covers; etc. Repair all screen doors and windows, and use mosquito repellent on clothing and exposed skin (in accordance with labeling instructions).
